About DB/CB

Debra Baxter/Crystal Bomb (DB/CB) was born out of a passion for rocks and minerals. Debra's sculptures (seen at http://debrabaxter.com) speak of the body, power plays, and questions of vulnerability. The work and ideas of the work are intertwined with alabaster, crystals and minerals. Debra is a sculptor with an MFA from Bard College. Her work has been shown in New York, Paris and London.

After her Crystal Brass Knuckles piece went viral on the internet in 2009, Debra realized how potent these pieces could be on the body. She began to make wearable pieces that highlight the magic of the minerals used, invoking a performative nature in the jewelry and imbuing power in the wearer. Each piece is one of a kind, made with a lot of heart.
